Both music and food have deeply integrated reverberations throughout human culture. From the beginning of human communities, celebrations around the planet have been based around the growing, harvesting, and consuming of food-- and we celebrate best with movement and music! This piece invited the community to come together in the sharing of food with our friends Jupiter Foods and Tacos Don Pepe. Together we enjoyed those foods that sustain our bodies and creating the music that feeds our souls!

"Sustain" is an audiovisual interactive art experience that uses the most basic of food items (dry rice, beans, peppers) to illustrate vibrations of sound and music through the use of 'cymatics' - a visual representation of sound generated by a musical instrument that everyone can play.
